My father's 1941 is still on the property and, as best as I know, still runs (he passed away a couple years ago). But, as far as I could tell, the tires were in poor condition. When he bought it in the mid-1960s, he was told that it was initially manufactured with steel wheels but had been converted to rubber at some point. The wheels themselves resemble those shown on the '42 in the film.

Beautiful belt pulley with magneto... crank her up! In the mid 1960s, the Army Corps of Engineers built a dam upstream on the creek that flowed around the back of the farm. Dad bought steel for the back of our H, and it was my task to disc the field after the D-6 cleared and plowed it in the spring. I quickly discovered how quickly those spades could dig two holes in the soft bottom ground soil. With the tractor sitting on the back end and a heavy frown from Dad, it was a one-time blunder. Dave, thank you for sharing this beautiful tractor.

My car was a 1942, much like this one (except no paint left on it, anywhere). My grandfather purchased it almost brand new as a repo.
In 1998, I was still using it for vegetable growing, but the farm failed, and I regrettably sold both the farm and the tractor in 2004.
